Gallerie dell'Accademia acquires 10 new works for permanent collection
The Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice has recently expanded its permanent collection with the addition of ten new artworks, acquired by the Italian government for over one million euros. This funding comes from the Direzione Generale Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio and the Direzione Generale Musei for the years 2021-2023. These pieces are currently showcased in the renovated Palladian loggia prior to their inclusion in the permanent exhibition. Among the new acquisitions are three panels by Bartolomeo Vivarini, Giulia Lama's Samson and Delilah, a double-sided sheet by Giambattista Tiepolo, as well as works from Bonifacio de' Pitati, Pietro Ricchi, Antonio Vivarini, and Francesco Fontebasso. The exhibition highlights the reconstruction of the Vivarini polyptych and the unique styles of these artists.
