Gallerie d’Italia announces dual fall exhibitions on collectors and Artemisia Gentileschi
This autumn, Gallerie d’Italia is set to unveil two exhibitions in Milan and Naples. In Milan, the exhibition titled “Mecenati, collezionisti, filantropi. Dai Medici ai Rothschild” will commence on November 18, curated by Fernando Mazzocca, Sebastian Schütze, and Gianfranco Brunelli. It will display over 120 artworks from renowned institutions such as the National Gallery London and Musée du Louvre, featuring patrons from the Medici to the Rothschilds, with artists like Verrocchio, Michelangelo, and Caravaggio. Meanwhile, in Naples, “Artemisia Gentileschi a Napoli” will open on December 3, curated by Antonio Ernesto Denunzio and Giuseppe Porzio, showcasing around fifty works from Gentileschi’s time in Naples (1630–1654). The Milan exhibition will be available until March 26, 2023, while the Naples exhibition will run until March 20, 2023.
