Galleria Sospesa Opens in Rome with Vittorio Campana's 'Oblivio'

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new temporary contemporary art space, Galleria Sospesa, opened on December 13, 2023, at Via Paganica 9 in Rome's Jewish Ghetto, near the Fontana delle Tartarughe. Founded by Marta Bancie and co-founded with Costanza Corteggiani, the gallery aims to offer an 'uncommon' contemporary art experience spanning photography, painting, and sculpture. It has also initiated a collaboration with Co.De. Srl, an event and co-working location company. The inaugural exhibition, 'Oblivio,' is a photographic series by Vittorio Campana focusing on abandoned places reclaimed by nature, highlighting the fragility of human artifice. Campana stated the work reflects on what society is willing to leave behind, with these silent sites carrying 'the poetry of oblivion.' The exhibition, curated by Bancie, runs until January 13 and explores the dialogue between modern architecture and space, urging viewers to look beyond appearances.
