Galleria Russo Opens New Archival Space in Rome
In the summer of 2024, Galleria Russo, the oldest modern art gallery in Italy, launched Galleria Russo Archivi at Via Laurina 12 in Rome. The gallery is under the leadership of Fabrizio Russo, who has been the director since 1984 and is part of the third generation of the Russo family. This new space includes a street-level exhibition area, climate-controlled storage, offices, and a meeting room. It features significant archives such as the Archivio dell'Opera di Duilio Cambellotti, Archivio Tato, and Archivio Antonio Mancini. The first exhibition, which took place in September 2024, highlighted Cambellotti's 20 tempera illustrations for 'Le Mille e una notte.' Currently, 'The beginning and the light,' a solo exhibition by Ernesto Morales, is on display until January 31. Galleria Russo was established in 1898 by Pasquale Addeo.
