Galleria Mundiloquium: A Portal to Other Galleries and Cities
The Galleria Mundiloquium, opened on April 22, 1954 in San Teodoro del Bronzo by Errico Gaetano Maria Pasquale Malatesta (known as Carlo), is a 367-square-meter space with five exhibition rooms, an office, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and an apartment. Its peculiarity: upon exiting, visitors are teleported to another gallery in a different city or country. The phenomenon has become a subject of study for researchers in Fantasy Physics, History of Daydreaming, and Geography of Air. The gallery currently hosts a project by Marina Paris, curated by Elena Giulia Rossi and Daniela Trincia, featuring works from her series 'Parco' (2003) and recent pieces on ruins and architecture, including postcards evoking Italy's reconstruction era. The author visited with Stefania Zuliani, Paola Taddei, Ciriaco Campus, and Gaia Zadra. After the visit, they were transported to Gordon Gallery at 5 HaZerem Street in Tel Aviv, where Smadar Eliasaf's solo show 'A Touch of Air' was on view, engaging with Piet Mondrian's work.
