Galleria IN'EI Opens in Venice with Gao Bo Solo Show

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new gallery dedicated to East Asian art, Galleria IN'EI, has opened in Venice's San Polo district. Founded by Hélène Dubois and Patrice Dumand, both experts in East Asian art, the space aims to bridge art and design while promoting artists from China, Japan, and Korea. The gallery's name derives from the Japanese word for 'shadow,' reflecting a specific aesthetic identity. It will work with a select group of artists, fostering long-term relationships and producing site-specific works. The inaugural exhibition, 'Offerta Venezia-Himalaya,' is a solo show by Chinese-born, French-naturalized artist Gao Bo, curated by Pietro Gaglianò. The exhibition opened on March 11, 2023, and marks Gao Bo's return to the international scene after a period of reflection. His work blends photography and performance, rooted in his dual cultural experiences. The gallery is located in San Polo, the smallest of Venice's six sestieri, known for its artisan workshops and proximity to cultural institutions like Fondation Valmont and the Emily Harvey Foundation.
