Galleria Immerso: New Photography Space in the Italian Alps
Galleria Immerso, a 400-square-meter photography gallery and cultural space, will open in July 2019 in the alpine hamlet of Grangesises, Sauze di Cesana, Italy. Directed by 27-year-old Edoardo Bruno Falletta, the gallery aims to combine a classic commercial gallery with educational programming, including workshops, debates, and courses. The space, renovated as an open-plan showroom, contrasts with the traditional, car-free village. Falletta, who previously worked at Nikon Italia, plans to feature both established and emerging artists, with a focus on young talents and Asian artists. The inaugural exhibition will pair two seemingly distant artists in large-format prints. The first workshop, led by photographer Alberto Ghizzi Panizza, is scheduled for September 20–22, 2019. Falletta emphasizes the gallery's role in valorizing the alpine environment without displacing it.
