Galleria Forni Opens Tiny Pop-Up in Venice for Two Months

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Galleria Forni, a historic Bolognese gallery founded in 1967, has opened a temporary pop-up space in Venice called Forni in Venice. Located on Fondamenta Sant'Eufemia 673, overlooking the Giudecca Canal near Harry's Dolci and Molino Stucky, the space is exceptionally small, comparable to an art fair booth. It will operate from September 1 to October 30, 2024, with a rapidly rotating exhibition program showcasing the gallery's roster. The gallery, known for figurative painting and sculpture, has previously had spaces in Amsterdam, Tokyo, Milan, and Ragusa. Since 2000, under gallerist Paola Forni, it has also focused on contemporary photography. The pop-up features established artists like Luciano Ventrone (hyperrealist master, now deceased) and Randall Morgan (known for Amalfi Coast landscapes), alongside mid-career artists Giorgio Tonelli, Massimo Kaufmann, and Andrea Baruffi. International emerging talents include Laurent Chéhère, Tommaso Ottieri, Paolo Quaresima, Ana Kapor, Nicola Nannini, and Giovanni Viola, as well as younger artists Francesca Dondoglio, Olmo Gasperini, and Giovanni Mercatelli. Photographers Mauro Davoli and Vera Rossi are also included, while sculptors Michelangelo Barbieri, Mario Branca, and Jeanne-Isabelle Cornière represent the sculpture section.
