Galleria Farsetti and Gori Tessuti launch joint contemporary art project

Galleria Farsetti in Milan and textile manufacturer Gori Tessuti in Calenzano, Tuscany, have formed a partnership to create a contemporary art project that reimagines both a gallery and a factory. The collaboration is curated by Marco Scotini and features artist Vittorio Corsini, who will create two site-specific interventions. The first, UNSTABLE, opens April 5 at Galleria Farsetti, which will unveil a redesigned space. The second, ENVIRONMENTS, opens April 13 at Gori Tessuti's new cultural space, Arte in Fabbrica, located within the factory. Galleria Farsetti, founded in 1999 by Frediano and Franco Farsetti, has a history dating back to 1955 and is known for dealing in 20th-century masters like Lucio Fontana. The gallery's new generation is now focusing on contemporary artists. Gori Tessuti, established in the 1940s in Prato by Giuliano and Giuseppina Gori, later moved to Calenzano. The Gori family also owns the Villa di Celle, home to the Collezione di Arte Ambientale della Fattoria di Celle. The factory has supplied fabrics for films such as Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin, Marco Polo, and La La Land. Arte in Fabbrica is an exhibition space within the factory that operates alongside production, aiming to blend work and art. The partnership stems from mutual respect and a desire to challenge artists to work across different environments.
