Galleria Continua reopens in Paris with 'À bras ouverts'

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Galleria Continua has reopened its Paris space in the Marais district with the group exhibition 'À bras ouverts' (With Open Arms), running until June 19, 2021. The reopening coincides with Gallery Week and features newly renovated galleries designed in collaboration with MBL Architects. The renovation removed storage and false ceilings, exposing the building's architectural skeleton and historical traces. Works include Daniel Buren's 'Del colore della materia' (1989), Etel Adnan's tapestries, Kader Attia's 'Sombre joie' (2017) and 'Dé-construire Ré-inventer' (2012), Chen Zhen's 'Mémoire 4' (1989) and 'Les Textes de la lumière / La Lumière des textes' (1992), Pascale Marthine Tayou's 'Lampedusa' (2015), Leila Alaoui's 'Crossings' (2013) series, and JR's work referencing Ellis Island. The exhibition explores migration, memory, and cultural stratification, with fluorescent labels adding a playful touch.
