Galleria Continua Opens Anti-White Cube Space in Paris's Marais, Curated by JR
Galleria Continua has launched a new 800-square-meter venue at 87 Rue du Temple in Paris's Marais district, close to the Centre Pompidou. This gallery, situated in a former leather goods warehouse, intentionally maintains its raw, unrefined look, moving away from the conventional white cube style. It serves as a multifunctional space that combines a gallery, city market, café, and social hub. Founded by Mario Cristiani, Lorenzo Fiaschi, and Maurizio Rigillo in 1990 in San Gimignano, the gallery aims to be inclusive and welcoming. The opening exhibition, "TRUC À FAIRE," curated by street artist JR, features works from notable artists including Ai Weiwei and Anish Kapoor, and will be on display until February 20, 2021. Galleria Continua also operates in locations such as Beijing, Rome, and São Paulo.
