Galleria Continua opens a supermarket in Paris
Galleria Continua has transformed its Parisian space at Rue du Temple into a supermarket-like installation for the group show "Truc à Faire," curated by artist JR. The exhibition, which opened in January 2021, features artworks interspersed with food products from Italy, Cuba, France, China, and Brazil—mirroring the gallery's global locations: San Gimignano, Rome, Les Moulins, Havana, São Paulo, and Paris. The 800-square-meter, two-floor venue in the Marais district includes a café, a shop, and a conference room. JR describes the space as "halfway between a cathedral and a supermarket," aiming to create a dynamic environment for discussion and encounter. The show includes works by Ai Weiwei, Daniel Buren, Anish Kapoor, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Pascale Marthine Tayou, among others. The gallery promoted the initiative on Instagram with a video juxtaposing art and food.
