Galleria Continua brings contemporary art to Belmond hotels worldwide
Galleria Continua has teamed up with Belmond for the Mitico initiative, which showcases contemporary art in hotels throughout Europe. This project began in 2022 with Subodh Gupta's installation at the Cipriani Belmond Hotel in Venice and features artists like Michelangelo Pistoletto, Leandro Erlich, Pascale Marthine Tayou, and Arcangelo Sassolino. In 2023, new works by Yoan Capote, Sun Yan & Peng Yu, and Nari Ward will be introduced, along with a significant installation by Loris Cecchini planned for July in Oxfordshire and another at Copacabana Palace in Rio. Curator Lorenzo Fiaschi highlights the importance of art accessibility and engagement, despite facing logistical hurdles, including transporting Gupta's four-ton sculpture and securing heritage approvals for Cecchini's piece. Fiaschi also teases an exciting surprise for next year.
