Galleria Bunker Opens in Florence with 'Fuego' Exhibition

Galleria Bunker, a new art space in Florence, opened on June 13, 2024, with the group show 'Fuego' running through September 30, 2024. The gallery is an evolution of Timothee Studio, an architecture and design firm founded in 2018 by Niccolò Antonielli (b. 1989), Cosimo Bonciani (b. 1991), and Andrea Mascagni (b. 1992). Located at Via San Gallo 108r, the space combines vintage design objects and modern art with works by contemporary artists. The exhibition features emerging artists Andrea De Liberato (b. 1998, Penne) and Jonathan Bocca (b. 1998, Lucca), both born in 1998. De Liberato, trained at Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, creates oil paintings inspired by theatrical scenography and masks, working at the Atelier del Teatro e delle Arti within the Artepassante project. Bocca, a sculptor and designer who studied at IED Florence, uses recycled paper from Lucca's industries to create dreamlike, organic sculptures. The gallery's name 'Bunker' references the founders' humble beginnings in garages, basements, and windowless coworking spaces. The show's theme of fire symbolizes transformation, with red walls and artworks conveying energy. The founders also curate the exhibition.
