Galleria Bruna Soletti, key figure in Milan's art scene, dies at 92

Bruna Soletti, a notable gallerist in Milan during the 1970s and 1980s, passed away on August 3, 2020. She was the partner and subsequently the wife of artist Vincenzo Agnetti, and following his death in 1981, she took on the role of steward for his artistic legacy, leading to the establishment of his archive. Soletti began her journey at Galleria Francoise Lambert and later managed Galleria L'uomo e l'arte, where she showcased international artists like Bruce Nauman and Dan Flavin to Milan for the first time. In the late 1970s, she opened her own gallery in Piazza Sant'Alessandro, working with Ileana Sonnabend and exhibiting artists such as Christian Boltanski and Joseph Beuys. In the 2000s, she collaborated with her nephew Guido Barbato to launch a new space in Milan, featuring artists like Birgit Jensen and Jeremy Blake. Soletti would have celebrated her 93rd birthday on November 25, 2020; her daughter Germana and nephew Guido, along with members of the Archivio Agnetti, organized a gathering at the archive in her honor.
