Galleria Borghese Masterpieces Travel to Cuneo in Landmark Exhibition
The Complesso Monumentale di San Francesco in Cuneo will host "La Galleria Borghese. Da Raffaello a Bernini. Storia di una collezione" from November 22, 2025 to March 29, 2026. Curated by Francesca Cappelletti and Ettore Giovanati, the exhibition brings works by Raphael, Titian, Bernini, Guido Reni, Lavinia Fontana, and others from the Galleria Borghese collection. It traces the collecting history of Cardinal Scipione Caffarelli Borghese (1577–1633), nephew of Pope Paul V, who assembled one of Europe's most important collections. The show is promoted by Fondazione CRC and Intesa Sanpaolo, with free admission. Highlights include Titian's "Ritratto di frate domenicano," Jacopo Bassano's "Autunno" and "Primavera," a portrait attributed to Raphael, and Bernini's "Capra Amaltea." The exhibition explores the transition from Renaissance to Baroque, emphasizing the dialogue between painting and sculpture. A section features Guido Reni's "Paesaggio con danza campestre," recently reacquired by the Galleria Borghese.
