Galleria Allegra Ravizza Opens New Space in Honolulu with Pistoletto Show

The Galleria Allegra Ravizza, founded in Milan in 2007 and relocated to Lugano in 2013, is expanding to Honolulu, Hawaii, in collaboration with American art advisor Shari Brownfield. The new Ravizza Brownfield Gallery will open on March 7, 2017, at 1109 Nuuanu Avenue with a site-specific exhibition by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The show will feature his 1976 installation Senza Titolo (Metamorfosi) and references to the Terzo Paradiso and Love Difference, with all communication in Hawaiian and English. The opening coincides with the first Honolulu Biennial (March 8 to May 8, 2017), titled Middle of Now. Here., directed by Fumio Nanjo of the Mori Art Museum, Tokyo, with curatorial support from Ngahiraka Mason, formerly of the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki. The gallery aims to promote European culture and foster dialogue between European and local artists.
