Galleria Aleandri Arte Moderna opens new Rome space with Enzo Cucchi show

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Galleria Aleandri Arte Moderna has relocated to Via Aracoeli 7 in Rome, between the Campidoglio and Piazza Margana. The inaugural exhibition, "Prendere al buio per riportare al buio" (on view until June 27, 2025), was conceived by artist Enzo Cucchi (born 1949 in Morro d'Alba) and formalized by critic Mario Finazzi. The show presents Cucchi's monumental new work "Paese mio," created using the ancient bucchero ceramic technique. The installation evokes a claustrophobic mental architecture with spaces like a cellar, cavity, fire and sleep room, and attic, inhabited by drawings from other artists, including recent works by Andrea Salvino and post-World War II pieces by Nori De' Nobili, plus materials from the historical archive of Litografia Bulla. The exhibition's architectural section drawing was created by Gaia Amerio. Gallerist Simone Aleandri stated the gallery has been active in Rome for nearly twenty years, focusing on drawing with contemporary art incursions, and aims to bring overlooked artists to light. The new, larger space seeks to foster dialogue between modern and contemporary art through rigorous curatorial paths.
