Galileo Chini exhibition at Mo.C.A. Montecatini Terme

exhibition · 2026-04-27

A new exhibition at the Mo.C.A. museum in Montecatini Terme showcases works by Galileo Chini, a pioneer of the Liberty style in Italy. The show, curated by Paolo Bellucci, draws exclusively from public and private collections within the city, avoiding external loans. It is part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of Chini's birth, which also include a book published by Maschietto Editore and a short film presented at the Avanca Festival in Portugal and the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography in Armenia. The exhibition runs from July 15, 2023, to January 7, 2024, at the Palazzo Comunale, itself decorated by Chini. The Mo.C.A. museum, established in 2012, also holds works by Pietro Annigoni, Joan Mirò, and Swiss sculptor Claraz. Culture Councillor Alessandro Sartoni highlighted the uniqueness of displaying Chini's works in a venue he himself decorated, calling him an ambassador for Montecatini worldwide.
