Galerie Le Réverbère Celebrates 25 Years with Group Exhibition

Galerie Le Réverbère in Lyon marks its 25th anniversary with the exhibition 'Vingt-cinq ans, noces d'argent !' from September 16 to November 25, 2006, as part of the Lyon Septembre de la Photographie 2006 festival. The show honors twenty photographers who contributed to the gallery's founding, giving them carte blanche to present one work each. Founded in 1981, Le Réverbère was among the first French galleries to champion photography. Its walls have remained in Lyon, hosting major names like Denis Roche, William Klein, and Alain Fleischer. Behind the scenes, founders Catherine Dérioz and Jacques Damez continue to guide the gallery's unique trajectory shaped by encounters, affinities, and friendships. To commemorate the milestone, they have published a book titled 'Galerie Le Réverbère 25', which assembles a non-linear narrative of their adventure, including fragments of memories, friend testimonials, a chronology of exhibitions and collaborations, and biographies and iconic images of the artists who have accompanied them.
