Galerie De Jonckheere Opens Monaco Space with 'The Meeting of Masters'

Galerie De Jonckheere, established in 1976 and renowned for its collection of 16th- and 17th-century Flemish art, has launched a new location in Monaco. The opening exhibition, titled 'The Meeting of Masters', presents a contrast between Old Masters and contemporary pieces. Featured artists from the past include Hieronymus Bosch, the Brueghel family, Lucas Cranach the Younger, and David Teniers, among others. Contemporary contributions come from Enrico Castellani, Alexander Calder, and René Magritte. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in January in Geneva, the gallery showcased Flemish Golden Age art. Laura De Jonckheere emphasizes the shift toward eclectic collector preferences and views social media as a means of education rather than sales. The Monaco venue, replacing a previous Paris site, fosters closer client relationships and participates in prominent art fairs like TEFAF Maastricht and Frieze Art Fair London.
