Gaia Bindi on Art, Ecology, and the Human-Nature Relationship

Gaia Bindi, an art historian born in Florence in 1967, is a faculty member at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze. Her professional experience includes roles at the Museo Marino Marini, Archivi Alinari, and Musée Picasso. She has partnered with Jean Clair and Maurizio Fagiolo dell’Arco on exhibitions featuring Italian art from the 1920s and 1930s, highlighting figures like de Chirico and Picasso. Since 2009, she has been a consultant for PAV in Turin, concentrating on contemporary art with an ecological focus. Her 2019 publication, "Arte, ambiente, ecologia," delves into the connections between humans and nature. In the same year, she co-curated three garden installations for the exhibition "Resistenza/Resilienza," advocating for art that collaborates with science and enhances sensory experiences in a post-COVID-19 world, particularly through bioartists tackling health challenges.
