Gagosian Premieres: Live-Streaming Series Launches for Virtual Exhibition Access

Gagosian Gallery has introduced Gagosian Premieres, a live-streaming initiative aimed at enhancing exhibitions in its worldwide venues. This program seeks to address the restrictions on visitor numbers due to social distancing, especially during opening events, and to engage remote audiences with exclusive content. The series includes virtual tours, discussions, and musical acts featuring Gagosian artists and cultural personalities like writer Malcolm Gladwell, former Sonic Youth lead Thurston Moore, and Wilco's Jeff Tweedy. By utilizing an online format, Gagosian recreates the unique ambiance of its vernissages for a broader audience. Larry Gagosian established his first gallery in Los Angeles in 1980, followed by a Chelsea location in New York in 1985, and has since expanded to 16 exhibition spaces globally, with plans for a new Athens gallery in 2021.
