Gagosian and Chef Evan Funke to Open Joint Space in Los Angeles
Larry Gagosian is teaming up with chef Evan Funke to launch a new venue at 430 North Camden Drive in Los Angeles. Funke has leased over 8,800 square feet right next to Gagosian's current gallery in LA. While they plan to collaborate, the specifics of their partnership are still under wraps. Gagosian hasn’t finalized how he’ll utilize his section, which could be for offices or storage. Funke's restaurant, which is set to open in 2020, will showcase pieces from Gagosian's gallery. This isn't Gagosian's first foray into food; back in 2014, he worked with sushi chef Masa Takayama to create Kappo Masa in New York, featuring art from his collection. Since opening his first LA gallery in 1980, Gagosian has expanded globally, establishing sixteen locations in major cities and representing renowned artists.
