Gabriele Picco's Funeral Hearse Installation 'Eternity' at Miart Features Cloud Sculpture

At Miart, Gabriele Picco presented 'Eternity,' a solo exhibition at the Ex Elettrofonica booth that centered on a 1938 Chevrolet funeral hearse. This vehicle, which had a wartime history and later served in Naples, was repurposed to transport a cloud sculpture instead of a coffin. The installation played with contrasts between the absurd and familiar, blending comedic and melancholic tones. Picco's work transformed the hearse—traditionally symbolic of endings—into a vessel for something ephemeral and indefinable. Inside the exhibition space, walls covered with savoiardi biscuits mimicking bricks displayed drawings and paintings. The cloud sculpture traveled through Milan before arriving at the fair, passing landmarks including the Bosco Verticale, Castello Sforzesco, Piazza Cadorna, Porta Venezia, and Stazione Centrale di Milano.
