Gabriela Galati curates 'Domande sul vivente' at aA29 Project Room in Milan

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Curator Gabriela Galati, whose research focuses on posthumanism and who recently published 'Duchamp meets Turing', has organized the group exhibition 'Domande sul vivente' (Questions on the Living) at aA29 Project Room in Milan. The show features six artists and one creative collective: Matilde Sambo, Tiziana Pers, Ivana Adaime Makac, Brandon Ballengée (works courtesy of Nowhere Gallery), Muriel Rodolosse, Camilla Alberti, and the collective SEEDS. Galati chose the title to emphasize posing questions rather than providing answers, expanding her previous focus on human-technology relationships to encompass all living beings within an ecosystem. The exhibition includes diverse media, from painting to performance, and does not necessarily feature living organisms as materials. On June 23, SEEDS will present 'Plant Swap', a performance where the public exchanges plants, seeds, advice, and stories, aiming to engage audiences who might not typically visit galleries. Galati notes that while approaches vary—from Tiziana Pers's activism to Brandon Ballengée's biological perspective—a common thread is deep respect for all forms of life.
