Gabi Ngcobo to curate 2018 Berlin Biennale

On November 25, 2016, Gabi Ngcobo was named the curator for the 2018 Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, marking its 10th edition. Ngcobo, who is from South Africa, will follow the DIS Magazine collective, which managed the 9th edition in 2016. Her background includes co-curating the 32nd Bienal de São Paulo, working as an assistant curator at Cape Town's South African National Gallery, and being the head researcher for the Cape Africa Platform, where she also curated the 2007 Cape07 Biennale. Furthermore, she co-founded the initiatives NGO – Nothing Gets Organised and the Center for Historical Reenactments, which operated from 2010 to 2014.
