g. olmo stuppia's Drone Performance at INHA, Paris

other · 2026-05-04

Italian artist g. olmo stuppia (born 1991, Milan) staged 'Archéologie du futur', the first performance ever held at the Galleria Colbert of the Institut National d'Histoire de l'Art (INHA) in Paris. The piece, part of the nomadic Cassata Drone Expanded Archive, involved a drone flying overhead while performers used smartphones to film themselves and washed a decapitated head of a 1980s Statue of Liberty. The performance incorporated sounds of military drones from Sigonella base, reworked by Antonio Gambino, and featured performer Susanna Dimitri. Curated by Anna Battiston, Nathalia Prikhodko, and Sasha Pavak, the event included a discussion with sociologist Julien Chandelier. The work explored surveillance, ritual, and Sicilian cultural references, with audiences invited to share ricotta from a single spoon.
