Future Fictions: Digital Capitalism Meets Archaic Past in London
The group exhibition 'Future Fictions' at Assembly Point in London, curated by Mattia Giussani, explores the concept of 'cosmic spasm' coined by psychoanalyst Felix Guattari to describe the contraction of space and time caused by digital revolution. Artists Pakui Hardware, Joey Holder, Core.Pan, and Viktor Timofeev present works where advanced technologies merge with archaic elements: Bitcoin acquires mystical overtones, porphyrin—a substance found in petroleum derivatives and living organisms—becomes a mythological entity, and virtual reality leads into claustrophobic stone labyrinths. The show runs until October 14, 2017, at 49 Staffordshire Street.
