Future Fair 2026: Artist-Centric Fair Fosters Community in Chelsea

festival-fair · 2026-05-15

The sixth edition of Future Fair, held at Chelsea Industrial in New York from May 13 to 16, 2026, emphasized interpersonal connections over the typical sterile fair atmosphere. Instead of segmented booths, the fair created an interconnected environment, reflecting its profit-sharing model: 15% of proceeds plus exhibitor donations subsidize emerging galleries. Notable participants included Nanor Hakimian presenting her brother Garo's paintings "WWIV" (2022) and "Dog Eat Dog" (2022), curated by Maria Yoon. Vermont-based Janna's Gate Gallery featured Hans Silas Jovine exhibiting his mother Olivia Janna Genereaux's oil-on-board works, including "What is that sound?" (2026). Mexico City's Pali Galería showed Brooklyn-based Argentinian artist Cloe Galasso, who began painting in 2020. Toronto's Abbozzo Gallery presented self-taught abstract painter John Vitale from Williamsburg and Canadian painter Miles Ingrassia with his series of tender portraits. Madalena Negrone's knot-like paintings at Tourné Gallery offered visual relief. The fair's collaborative energy saw artists engaging with each other, not just visitors.
