Fusion Art Gallery's 'Lo sguardo verificato' Reasserts Painting's Tangible Knowledge
From May 20 to September 30, 2026, Fusion Art Gallery in Turin presents 'Lo sguardo verificato. Pittura e natura contro la falsa visione,' a group exhibition curated by Michele Bramante. The show features four artists—Paul Goodwin, Petra Kuptz, Robert Lang, and Thomas Lange—who collectively argue for painting's capacity to restore direct perceptual experience in an age of digital mediation. The exhibition's theoretical framework draws on Gilles Deleuze's distinction between the manual, the tactile, and the digital: painting belongs to the first two realms, embodying gesture, continuity, and material proximity, as opposed to the discrete, disembodied nature of digital images. Works on view include Petra Kuptz's 'Winter 2' (2025, acrylic and pastel on canvas, 100×120 cm), Robert Lang's 'Sugar Mountain' (2026, acrylic and paper on canvas, 95×73 cm), and Thomas Lange's 'PROMETEO' (2024, oil on canvas, 45×35 cm). The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue published by ReFRAME EDIZIONI. Opening hours: Wednesday and Friday 10:00–13:00, Thursday and Saturday 16:00–19:00.
