Fuser: Harmonix's New DJ Game Lets You Remix 100+ Songs

Harmonix, the developer behind Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Central, announced Fuser, a new video game that turns players into DJs at a virtual festival. Unlike previous Harmonix games where players recreate existing performances, Fuser allows players to create their own mixes by combining components from over 100 songs across pop, rap, hip-hop, R&B, dance, rock, country, and Latin music. Each song is split into four parts (e.g., drums, keyboards, guitar, vocals), and players can mix up to four components from different songs simultaneously. The software automatically adjusts tempo, key, and mode, with further manipulation possible. The game includes a single-player campaign with challenges where the virtual crowd makes requests, and a freestyle mode for unrestricted creation. Fuser supports competitive and cooperative multiplayer, though details are pending.
