Furio Colombo's Private Collection Heads to Finarte Auction in Milan

Finarte has released an exclusive video interview with Furio Colombo ahead of its Modern and Contemporary Art auction at La Permanente in Milan on May 11, 2016. In the interview, Colombo discusses his friendships with Mario Schifano and Tano Festa, and the years of Italian Pop art in New York. The auction features 142 lots spanning Futurism, Metaphysical art, Geometric Abstraction, Analytical Painting, and Italian Pop from the Roman school, with a focus on artists active since the 1990s. International highlights include a mixed media on charcoal by Jean Tinguely (Schwarze Méta, 1985, €8,000–10,000), a gouache on buried paper by Sam Francis (Untitled, 1973, €50,000–60,000), and an acrylic on canvas by Max Bill (Vier Überlagerte Helligkeiten, 1966, €20,000–30,000). The preview runs from May 7 to 10, with a cocktail on May 9.
