Fuori Salone 2017: Design Nomade e Objets Nomades invadono i palazzi milanesi
During Milan Design Week 2017, the Fuori Salone took over historic Milanese residences with nomadic design exhibitions. At BASE (via Bergognone 34), the show "Design Nomade" curated by BASE Milano with Stefano Mirti featured objects and micro-architectures designed for travel, including Nomadic Life by Gerardo Osio inspired by Japanese culture and Microarc by Modom, a modular, transportable housing model. The exhibition was amplified by a nomadic installation from Roman collective Orizzontale. At Palazzo Litta (Corso Magenta 24), "Belgium is Design" returned with "Belgitude," a selection of 10 design teams in collaboration with local companies, organized by DAMN° Magazine and Mosca Partners. Notable collaborations included Xavier Lust and Charles Schambourg By Nacarat's prototype upholstered seat in aluminum and leather, and Julien Renault with Kewlox offering a fresh interpretation of modular architectures. At Palazzo Serbelloni (Corso Venezia 16), Louis Vuitton presented 10 new proposals for its Objets Nomades collection, featuring modular furniture and transportable designs. A highlight was the geodesic structure in the courtyard housing the Ensemble Dune modular furniture by Pierre Cardin, originally designed in 1972 and realized by Louis Vuitton in 2014.
