FUORI!!! book celebrates 50 years of Italian homosexual liberation movement

On October 16, 2021, the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Fronte Unitario Omosessuale Rivoluzionario Italiano (FUORI!) is celebrated with the release of the book "FUORI!!!" published by Nero. Edited by Carlo Antonelli and the duo Francesco Urbano Ragazzi, with scientific collaboration from the Fondazione Sandro Penna/Fuori! and support from Levi's, the volume reproduces the first 13 issues of the magazine "FUORI!" (1971-1974) in facsimile, including issue 0 and the special issue "FUORI! Donna" (the first entirely produced by women). The book includes a critical introduction co-written by Antonelli and Ragazzi, and an interview with Angelo Pezzana, founder of FUORI!. Francesco Urbano Ragazzi describes the book as "a monument to FUORI! or a blatant declaration of love." The title uses three exclamation points to distinguish from the magazine and movement, emphasizing the need to amplify the cause in the digital age. The book is presented on October 16 at the Salone del Libro di Torino (Arena Piemonte, Stand dei diritti LGBT) and on October 18 at the Museo Archeologico di Milano (by invitation only).
