Fundraising events and limited editions highlight art world's charitable season

An exclusive car tax disc named American Shogun, created by Matthew Barney, is on sale for £40 through Pretty Taxing artist's editions. Last week, Greek art collector Dimitris Daskalopoulos was honored with a Leo Award at the Independent Curators International Gala. In Mayfair, London, House of Voltaire has collaborated with Chloé to offer products such as Jordan Wolfson bumper stickers priced at £8, Peter Saville tea towels for £25, and Jeremy Deller's iPhone covers for £10. A public sculpture by Michael Elion, a white South African artist, titled Perceiving Freedom, sponsored by Ray-Bans, can be found on Cape Town's Sea Point Promenade, featuring a massive pair of sunglasses gazing towards Robben Island. Additionally, the book Speculative Aesthetics, authored by Robin Mackay, Luke Pendrell, and James Trafford, has been published, examining the interplay between technology and human perception within global media networks. These initiatives are part of year-end fundraising efforts in the art sector, with the online exclusive released on 24 November 2014.
