Fundación Mapfre Barcelona Hosts 'Walker Evans. Now and Then'
A new exhibition titled "Walker Evans. Now and Then" will take place in Barcelona, celebrating the renowned American photographer Walker Evans, who lived from 1903 to 1975. Running from February 26 to May 24, 2026, and curated by David Campany of the International Center of Photography in New York, the display features over 200 pieces from Evans's extensive five-decade career. It includes vintage prints and Polaroids, emphasizing key themes such as urban signage and portraits. Notable works include his 1927 shadow self-portraits and the iconic 1936 image of cotton sharecropper Floyde Burroughs.
