Fulvio Morella's Braille-Infused Wood and Metal Works at Gaggenau Hub in Milan
Fulvio Morella's solo exhibition 'Pars Construens' opens October 11 at the Gaggenau DesignElementi Hub in Milan, curated by Sabino Maria Frassà. The show is the first part of his 'Blind Wood' project, which integrates braille—celebrating its bicentenary this year—into his practice. Morella's 'quadri-scultura' combine wood and metal with braille inscriptions, serving both as interpretive keys and decorative elements. Though abstract at first glance, the works reinterpret ancient monuments like Milan's Anfiteatro, Verona's Arena, and Palermo's domes, reflecting on humanistic progress. Born in 1971 in Sondrio province, Morella presents his third exhibition in the 'Extraordinario' cycle, a collaboration between Gaggenau and nonprofit Cramum that began in 2021. The cycle explores light and materials (glass, metal, wood) as foundations of design and progress.
