Fulvio Di Piazza creates cover art for Omosumo album
Fulvio Di Piazza, a painter from Syracuse, has designed the cover for the new album by Omosumo, a Palermo-based electronic/psychedelic rock band. The band members—Angelo Sicurella, Roberto Cammarata, and Antonio Di Martino—encountered Di Piazza's work in Palermo and were captivated by his surreal, ancestral, and hallucinatory imagery. During the album's creation, they proposed he make the cover art. Di Piazza suggested his 2014 painting "Madre blu," which depicts the "Vacca celeste" (celestial cow), a cosmic deity of rebirth tied to Egyptian esoteric culture. The album, described as a timeless and imaginative journey, will be released on November 11 via Malintenti / Edel / Believe. This collaboration follows a trend of Sicilian artists working with rock bands, such as Adalberto Abbate's cover for Baustelle's latest single.
