Fruit Exhibition Goes Digital with Virtual Fruit Platform

The independent art publishing fair Fruit Exhibition has launched a digital edition called Virtual Fruit on Zoom, responding to the pandemic lockdown. Originally scheduled for May 29-31 in Bologna, the eighth edition was canceled. Instead, exhibitors—including 5x letterpress (IT), Archivio (IT), Anteferma Edizioni (IT), BEKKO (IT), Marta Bianchi – Andreina Bochicchio (IT), Biblohaus (IT), Blow Up Press (PL), Checco Frongia (IT), El Dorado (ES), Giada Fuccelli (IT), Illustation.it (IT), ISIT.magazine (IT), KABUL magazine (IT), Libri Finti Cladestini (IT), Le palle.it (IT), Lök Zine (FR/IT), Maison Trouvée (FR), Mulieris Magazine (IT), Numero Cromatico (IT), Panteon magazine (IT), Point.51 (UK), Suren Hash (MN), Terra Project (IT), The Eriskay Connection (NL), and Virginia Viapiano (IT)—each receive a digital space to present their editorial projects and direct sales links. The fair also features talks and events streamed on the Fruit Exhibition website, Facebook, and YouTube. Organizers emphasized the importance of supporting independent publishing, stating, "The market represents the heart of the event and support for independent publishing is the heart of our mission." New exhibitors can still apply as the event runs until June 2020.
