FRONT 2022 Triennial Explores Art as Healing Across Cleveland Region

exhibition · 2026-04-20

This summer, the Cleveland Triennial of Contemporary Art will kick off its second edition, originally delayed due to the pandemic. Titled 'Oh, Gods of Dust and Rainbows,' it’s curated by Prem Krishnamurthy and features over 70 artists from various countries, spread across 20 venues in Cleveland, Akron, and Oberlin. The triennial focuses on how art can foster change and healing, reflecting Northeast Ohio's industrial history and caring traditions. Some standout collaborations include Jacolby Satterwhite with the Cleveland Clinic, a mural by Julie Mehretu in downtown Cleveland, and Cassie Thornton at the National Museum of Psychology. Krishnamurthy emphasizes community engagement, with many projects extending beyond the event's end on October 2.
