exhibition · 2026-04-27

The exhibition titled 'Gribouillage / Scarabocchio. Da Leonardo da Vinci a Cy Twombly' is currently on view at the French Academy in Rome – Villa Medici until May 22. Curated by Francesca Alberti, Diane Bodart, and Philippe-Alain Michaud, it presents approximately 300 pieces spanning 500 years of artistic doodling, including sketches found on the reverse sides of paintings and on workshop walls. This display questions conventional classifications in art. Following its run in Rome, the exhibition will move to the Beaux-Arts de Paris, where it will be held from October 19, 2022, to January 15, 2023, featuring notable figures like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Picasso, and Basquiat, along with Luigi Pericle's notes and drawings.
