Frode restores mural of partisan Lia after vandalism for Milan festival

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

The Il Mito delle Donne Festival's second edition is scheduled for October 4 to 6, 2024, taking place in Milan's Piazza delle Donne Partigiane, and will emphasize women's roles in society. A significant feature is the restoration of a mural by street artist Frode (Domenico Melillo), which was originally created in 2019 and later vandalized. Offensive language will be substituted with positive words selected by CADMI, ANPI Barona, and the culture councilor of Municipio 6. The festival kicks off with a concert by Angelica on October 4 and includes Stivalaccio Teatro's Strighe Maledette on October 6. Additional acts comprise Duperdu and the stand-up comedy show Patriarcato mon amour. A CADMI space will address gender violence on Sunday, with culture councilor Tommaso Sacchi commending the effort.
