Frigidaire and Il Male comic art hits the auction block
Bolaffi is auctioning 184 lots of original comic art from the historic Italian satirical magazines Il Male and Frigidaire on February 7, 2024. The sale features works by key artists of 1970s-80s Italian comics, including Stefano Tamburini, Filippo Scozzari, Massimo Mattioli, Tanino Liberatore, Angese, and Andrea Pazienza. Highlights include Tamburini's 1984 collage Autoimpiccato (estimate €1,800) and a 1981 Ranxerox page in English (estimate €400). Pazienza's selection includes Èovèr onnèovèr from 1979 (estimate €1,500) and the collaborative Gamba di legno drawings with Tamburini and Vincenzo Sparagna (estimate €1,500).
