Frieze New York 2026 Highlights: Latin American Focus, Southern Guild, and Cyborg Sculptures
Frieze New York returns to The Shed in Hudson Yards from May 13–17, 2026, for its 15th edition, featuring over 65 international galleries. The fair emphasizes Latin America, guided by new committee members Fátima González and Omayra Alvarado, with participating galleries including OMR, Kurimanzutto, Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel, A Gentil Carioca, and Mitre Galeria. Southern Guild, newly opened in Tribeca, presents artists Zanele Muholi, Zizipho Poswa, Roméo Mivekannin, Mmangaliso Nzuza, and Patrick Bongoy. In the Focus section, Sargent’s Daughters shows Yeni Mao’s cyborg-like metal sculptures, with a solo show upcoming at Museo Anahuacalli in Mexico City. David Zwirner features a solo booth of Joe Bradley’s new paintings, including 'Mayday' (2026). Brazilian gallery Vermelho highlights Tania Candiani’s 'Root Systems' series. Singapore’s Yeo Workshop showcases Southeast Asian artists Citra Sasmita, Maryanto, and Noor Mahnun, with Sasmita’s 'The Weaver of Myth' (2026). Night Gallery presents Hayley Barker’s atmospheric landscapes, including 'Stella' (2026), inspired by the American Southwest. Tina Kim Gallery brings Pacita Abad’s 'Door to Life' series, coinciding with her Chelsea exhibition through June 20.
