Frieze Launches No.9 Cork Street Pop-Up Gallery Space in Mayfair
Frieze has announced No.9 Cork Street, a new initiative providing pop-up exhibition spaces for galleries in two renovated townhouses in Mayfair, London. The project, designed by Matheson Whiteley and developed with The Pollen Estate, offers galleries exhibition rooms, a private viewing room, and media/digital services for four-week periods. Prices range from £34,500 to £55,500 depending on size and season, with a 40% discount for young galleries (founded after 2006 or previously in Frieze's Focus section). Artistic director Eva Lengret described it as a natural response to pandemic challenges, emphasizing the irreplaceable value of direct art experience. The initiative aims to connect international galleries with London audiences outside traditional art weeks.
