Frieze Founders Transition Leadership to Victoria Siddall While Expanding Educational Initiatives
In April 2016, Frieze entered a partnership with WME-IMG, a major sports and entertainment conglomerate representing celebrities like Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Novak Djokovic. Two years ago, cofounders Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp transferred management of their three art fairs—two in London and one in New York—to Victoria Siddall. Despite this change, Slotover and Sharp maintain overall control over the fairs, remaining magazines including Frieze, Frieze Masters, and Frieze Week, along with digital platforms. Since the leadership transition, Frieze Academy was launched as a year-round program offering talks and courses. The autumn issue of Berlin-based Frieze d/e magazine quietly announced it would be its final edition. Future initiatives from the organization remain uncertain.
