Frieze Art Fair expands to Los Angeles with inaugural edition at Paramount Pictures Studios
Frieze Art Fair will debut in Los Angeles from 14–17 February 2019, joining its existing fairs in London and New York. The event will take place at Paramount Pictures Studios, a historic Hollywood site, where architect Kulapat Yantrasast of wHY studio will create a temporary structure. Victoria Siddall, Frieze Art Fair’s director, highlighted Los Angeles's vibrant cultural landscape and the involvement of partner Endeavor, a Hollywood sports and entertainment agency that acquired significant stakes in Frieze in 2016. Bettina Korek has been named executive director for the fair, collaborating with Siddall; Korek is known as a writer and founder of For Your Art, an organization that supports artist projects and new patronage models. The fair will feature 60 galleries and include a program of site-specific artist projects and films curated by Hammer Museum adjunct curator Ali Subotnick.
