Friedrichs Pontone Opens International Summer Group Exhibition

Friedrichs Pontone has announced the opening of its summer exhibition, featuring a curated selection of works from the gallery's roster. The Summer Show brings together emerging and established artists from the US, UK, Canada, South Korea, and Estonia, blending contemporary voices in abstraction, figuration, and mixed media installation. Among the featured artists is Chris Rivers, a self-taught artist born in 1983 in Manchester, England, known for his large-scale oil paintings that combine bold abstract displays of charged color with surrealistic detail. His works play with perception, as soft light filters through overlaying mists of complementary tones, gradually swelling with dramatic saturated color before receding into the image. Also included is Estonian artist Kristi Kongi, whose practice encompasses paintings and site-specific installations rooted in a formal exploration of light, color, and space, initiated by her memories of personally significant landscapes. The exhibition highlights the gallery's international scope and its commitment to presenting diverse contemporary practices.
