Friedrich Andreoni's 'Another Chance' at Palazzo Vizzani Lambertini Sanguinetti

exhibition · 2026-04-26

At Palazzo Vizzani Lambertini Sanguinetti in Bologna, the non-profit association Alchemilla presents 'Another Chance', the fifth edition of its Residenze-Studio project featuring Berlin-based Italian artist Friedrich Andreoni (b. 1995, Pesaro). The exhibition, curated by Giulia Giacomelli and running until May 31, 2025, follows a two-month residency in April and May. Andreoni's research explores the relationship between body and space through sound, sculpture, video, and performance, focusing on residual traces within the 16th-century palace. The palace itself, located at Via Santo Stefano 43, boasts frescoes by Orazio Samacchini, Lorenzo Sabbatini, Pellegrino Tibaldi, Tommaso Laureti, Carlo Lodi, and Felice Giani, and was once home to Lorenzo Lambertini (future Pope Benedict XIV). Alchemilla, directed by Camilla Sanguinetti since 2019, supports visual and performing arts projects. Key works include the eponymous 'Another Chance' (a torch moving along a modular trajectory), and 'Flooding 1' and 'Flooding 2' (plaster-veiled boards evoking sinopie from a courtyard wall). Andreoni uses the German term 'Weltanschauung' to describe the aggregation of different worldviews and historical periods.
